 "...well?" Surge scoffed, folding his arms impatiently. "Do I have to make you drop down and give me 20?"  "Oh, not at all, sir!" James quickly said. "It's just that... well..." Glaring at James, Surge motioned for him to get on with it. "...do you promise not to laugh at us, or tell Ariana about it?" A moment of silence, before Surge sighed. "You three screwed the pooch again, didn't ya?" |

"...really...?" "Yep; and we have it right here!" James exclaimed, taking out the Light Ball... ...until Surge noticed it; at which point, he nabbed it. "A Light Ball!" he said with a smirk. "This can come in mighty handy!" James blinked. "...uh... you have a Pikachu, sir?" "Of course!" Surge nodded. "I may not use it as much as Electivolt or Raichu, but I have a Pikachu, nonetheless!" |

"Of course! Gimme a sec..." Humming, Surge tossed out a Poké Ball...  ...that allowed a Pikachu to emerge; unlike Ash's, however, he seemed somewhat meek. "...p-pika..." "... that's your Pikachu?" "Yep! Cute little bugger, isn't he?" Surge chuckled, crouching down to look at Pikachu. "Alright, soldier; you see her?" he said, pointing at Jessie. The Pikachu nodded timidly. "...wake her up." Instantly, the Pikachu shifted from meek and frightened to demonically twisted, as his cheeks sparked. "CHUUU!!!" Mercilessly, Pikachu shot a bolt of thunder right at Jessie.  "GYABRGHFBRABL!!!" And Jessie was summarily electrocuted, but hey, at least she woke up. "HOLY CRAP!!!" The shift in Pikachu's mood was, for lack of a better word, frightening. |

"...and that'll do." Instantly, Pikachu stopped, and reverted right back to being meek. Coughing, Jessie was almost completely charred, her hair absolutely fritzed. "...keh..." Comically, the ash burst off her when she turned to face Surge. "HEY, YOU!!! WHAT THE F*** DO YOU THINK YOU'RE PULLING?! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW LONG IT TAKES ME... TO... um..." That was when she realized that she was yelling straight in the face of a man much bigger than her. "...help?" Surge glared at her... before he began laughing loudly. "Now that's what I wanna see! You've got balls, Jessie; moreso than most grunts I've whipped into shape!" he complimented. Still mortified that she had yelled in Surge's face, Jessie chuckled sheepishly. "...um... thanks?" |

"Well, you can't just catch any run-of-the-mill Pokémon if you wanna best 'em; you've gotta get the toughest-looking Pokémon!" Surge noted. "I think I can help ya with that!" With that, he recalled Pikachu. |
