"Chuu!" As his cheeks sparked, Sparky shot a bolt of lightning straight for the cat.

Popping open, the ball poured out glowing energy to the ground, which formed into a dry shrew. "Saaaaand!"

Seeing that, Ritchie hummed. ...Sparky could probably handle that one... but I don't want him to have all the fun on his own, either. With a smile, he recalled his Pikachu, before tossing out a different Poké Ball. Might be risky, but... "Let's go, Zippo!"

And as the Poké Ball unleashed its contents...

"Chaah..." With a nod, he looked downwards.

And the ground exploded, under Zippo...

Which was the Sandshrew trying to attack him by surprise.
