I would think at least a few months after it's been out, so everyone's had a chance to play it and all.
And I'm a fan of Treecko, meself. Always did like having Swampert on hand for taking on the Fire Gym, though. (Eat x8 effectiveness, Camerupt! Mwahahaha!)

Well, we only know that there is a new generation, a region based on Europe, the two new heroes and the starters.
Who knows, maybe there is some online feature for this
Though has Nintendo ever had some MMO experience before? I would guess they'll get another company to develop the game for them if not
