Name:
Hope
Nicknames:
TBA
Age:
13
Gender:
Female
Residence:
Kanto
Weaknesses:
With the passing of her mother, any sort of serious emotional impact on her could lead to some... severe... withdrawal issues. Also, due to this, she's never once visited a Pokémon Center.
Personality:
On the outside, Hope appears to be very cheerful and happy; known for encouraging those who are down in the dumps themselves, and not letting much of anything put a damper on her spirit. She's used to deal with situations where people act irrationally due to helping her father out at work, and takes it all with a smile. She even sometimes speaks with a small sockpuppet, to accentuate her quirkiness. Though, there is a darker shade to her cheerful demeanor...
Likes:
Encouraging friends, Pokémon in general
Dislikes:
Anything seriously emotionally crippling, destiny, Pokémon Centers
Appearance:
History:
For the most part during her childhood, she lived a fairly idyllic life with her parents; being all smiles and never once really breaking up over anything serious. One thing she wanted was to go out in the world of Pokémon to just see the wonders around, and the plan was originally to go out in the world when she rounded around 10 years.
Then her mother died.
It was an accident; abrupt and completely out of left field, and it devastated more than one person. The operatives at the local Pokémon Center were powerless to do anything, and her father always muttered that this was all happening "because of Destiny".
From that day, a few major things have become objects of spite for poor Hope; the very idea of Pokémon Centers, that were unable to save her mother, and the idea of fate, which cruelly took her away from Hope far too soon. Even after her father remarried, the loss of her mother had such an impact on Hope that she was unwilling to even give her stepmother a chance, which left her to isolate herself a lot more. To get some kind of outlet, she fashioned a small sockpuppet to talk through, and through time, managed to rebuild her more cheery persona, as she finally prepared to venture out into the world of Pokémon.
