Ash Satoshi Ketchum, nicknamed 'Red', was a boy who lived alone with his mother, in a small country town called Pallet. His mother, Delia Ketchum was a single mother....who's husband mysteriously vanished during his journey. Ash never met the man. However, Delia was good friends with Professor Samuel Oak, who was once a mentor of her husband. And whenever she visited, Ash would 'play' with his grandson, Gary Shiguru Oak, who was quite the jerk. The two would compete in everything, and sadly, Gary always wins. But there was one thing the two wanted to compete in the most when they grow old enough...

Ash dreams of becoming a Pokemon Master, thus becoming the loser, no more.
