Not exactly, for the egg was still glowing, and the closer he got to the forest, the more it shined.
"Quite." he scoffed, setting down his bag. "Perhaps we should put your talents to the test in a Pokemon Battle." Without waiting for Gary, the boy tossed out a poke-ball.  Releasing the ever common little bird into the air.
Just as smug as Gary, "Trying to get one of the Kanto starters. Scythers are one of the rare and powerful Pokemon, out there in Kanto. So who doesn't wanna have one?" |

"Uhh..." He blinked. He looked up... and looked down... up, down, up, down... Tayten wants to look around Route 2 to train and catch new Pokemon... like getting EXP for Charmander and Pidgey... Well, maybe he can do that in the forest... "Ugh, feels like someone doesn't want me to help my Pokemon get stronger and just do this..." He muttered, walking towards the forest...
"If you wanted a Pokemon battle, you should have said so!" He smirked, tossing out a Pokeball... POW!!!  ...of his Starly. |

Before it knew it, it traveled, painfully, on the ground. HP= 21/22 The boy frowned, pushing up his glasses. "I was hardly prepared, but if that's how you want to play...Pidgey, use Sand-Attack!" "Pi!" Leaping into the air, the bird pushed its wings, forcing the wind to carry sand off the ground, and blow it over the Starly.
"Deal, sweet thing." he grinned, making a clicking sound while winking at her. He then walked over to the computer trader, placing his poke-ball on one slot. 1-7 |

And she put in a pokeball, only it wasn't Bulbasaur's. Though she hid that fact really well with her hand before the ball slipped through the machine. |

As commanded by its trainer, the Pidgey hovered in the air, blowing sand on the Squirtle's eyes to hopefully gain the advantage in accuracy. Starters, like a Squirtle, tend to be a starting trainer's strongest Pokemon.
