Well apparently, the route was also the Viridian Park, where many trainers were hanging around, talking, showing off their Pokemon, battling, and most of all...
....trading.
There was a trading computer, watched by some uniformed man, with a Pokemon League logo on his orange shirt, lazily reading a magazine.

"Huh..." He's heard about this... a trading place... he glanced around, wondering what Pokemon there are...

Well, there was this cocky-looking ace trainer trying to trade his Scyther for very rare Pokemon, mostly either Charmander, Squirtle, or a Bulbasaur. Trainers tend to be like this, trying to trade for Pokemon like starters or something rarer. There was a large hiker man who was trying to sell off a Machop for a lot of money. Seem to be a rather desperate attempt to gain quick cash on a Pokemon. There was some school-girl trying to give up a Tentacool for something cuter. Yes, girls like her find Tentacool rather gross to even look at. There's probably not a girl around who find Tentacools beautiful. And there was a bug catcher trying to trade a Beedrill, but he will only trade for different bug types. No such luck with him if you don't have a bug-type.

After a careful look and listen, he decided to... .... "Um... you are trying to trade for rarer Pokemon, right?" He asked the boy with the Scyther. "Are Sandshrew rare in your opinion?"

"...." Snerking, his lips trembled, trying to contain laughter, but... "Hahahaha!! Are you kidding me?! I can find those things in my backyard!" Studying the poke-balls on Tayten's belt, he can see through their transparent shells, especially the Charmander. "But I be happy to trade for that Charmander of yours. You're never gonna find a Scyther in your life, kid."

Do we really need to know what the answer is? So obvious... "So, how much is that Machop?" He asked. If it's a reasonable price, he can buy it...

"HEY!!" the ace trainer cried, insulted that he was ignored and left behind.
The large man rubbed his chin, "Well it cost 30 poke-dollars. I need some food for a big hike for tomorrow."

"OK." He said with a nod. "I'll buy it."

"Are you rich, kid, or something?" he chuckled, for the other trainers thought that price was too much. Never the less, he handed him the poke-ball. "You take good care of him. "I will, sir!" He said before walking over to where the girl is with the Tentacool. "Hey, um... you're trying to trade for something cute, right? Are Sandshrew cute?"

"A Sandshrew?" she hummed. "I never seen one of those up close."

"Well..." He opened the Pokeball... ...to reveal said Sandshrew. "Shrew?"

"EEEEEEEEE!!!" Before the shrew knew it, the girl scooped it up in a hug. "IT'S SO CUUUUUTE!!!"

And the poor thing sweatdropped... "I can, uh, trade Sandshrew for your Tentacool..."
